Entering the realm of psychedelic medicine unfolded gradually for me. It was an intertwining of my deep-rooted passion for healing and diverse life encounters. My journey with plants began with my studies in aromatherapy, a premonition of my future rendezvous with the entheogenic plants of the Amazon.
Sparked in my formative years, my path unfolded from an innate drive to make meaningful contributions to others' lives. Growing up amidst multicultural environments nurtured an inherent curiosity about the human experience. Celebrating human and ecological diversity has always been intrinsic to my being.
Initially, I pursued a Bachelor in Social Work, then served as a crisis counselor for women impacted by violence in the greater Toronto area (Canada). I went on to immerse myself in holistic wellness practices and later to lead yoga teacher trainings across continents. This allowed me to engage with diverse peoples and cultures. It was also my innate curiosity that pushed me to connect more profoundly with the Earth community.
This curiosity propelled me towards exploring wilderness fasting, communing with Mother Nature, and embracing entheogenic Amazonian and Andean plant medicines. Along my path, I was fortunate to be guided by both non-indigenous medicine keepers and indigenous elders, including the Sik/Sika Sauk (Blackfeet) teachings of the Medicine Wheel. This deepened my understanding of the cyclical nature inherent in our existence—a common thread among many earth-honouring cultures and wisdom traditions.
My calling led me to weave together practical wisdom, trauma-informed care, and insight rich experiences, fostering safe spaces for healing and self-inquiry. Collaborating with different centers, alongside revered medicine keepers, and aiding integration post-plant medicine ceremonies marked pivotal milestones.
Grounded in the yogic tradition, another aspect to my passion for healing practices is yoga nidra. This is a guided somatic meditation practice that works with the healing potential, like psychedelic healing, of altered states of consciousness. I believe that our future as humanity relies on reconnecting with our innermost being, which is infused by a unified life force. It is in these altered states that we discover our interconnection with all life, fostering deep healing and unity that offers a remedy to the prevalent sickness of separation that plagues our time.
In recent years, particularly in the wake of the pandemic, I’ve spent intensive periods, often in solitude, working in ceremony with various contemplative practices and master plant dietas, learning about animal communication and tending with love to some sweet cats and beach dogs while deepening my connection to Spirit and nature. Inspired by many timeless wisdom traditions including Ayurveda, I aim to offer a remedy for personal evolution while revering the planet's magnificent intelligence and beauty.
This field of interest, including plant medicine work and yogic practices, is, for me, steeped in the view that everything is alive, conscious and intelligent. It is a culmination of diverse experiences, profound teachings, and an unwavering reverence for life. It is soul work that embodies healing, guiding others, and nurturing an intimate connection to the universe. This journey is both personal and communal, a dedication to life's magnificence and evolution. I believe it’s especially needed in these difficult times.
